15-year-old girl strangles younger brother with earphone wire for objecting to her chatting with male friend

A 15-year-old girl in the Rae Bareli district of Uttar Pradesh strangled her 9-year-old brother with a headphone cord after objecting to her chatting with a male friend on her phone.

The incident occurred last Thursday and became known on Monday evening. The defendant was sent to a youth home on Tuesday.

According to police, the girl spent several hours on the phone when her parents were away. The younger brother complained to her parents about this a few days ago and the parents reprimanded the girl.

On Thursday, when the parents were away, the girl started talking to the friend on her phone.

Rae Bareli, Superintendent of Shlok Kumar Police, said, “The boy saw his sister talking on the phone and objected. It led to an argument between the two, after which he attacked the girl, but she strangled him with a headphone cord. “

The Rae Bareli Police Station in Dalmau received information about a missing nine-year-old and immediately went on a hunt to look for the child.

Shlok Kumar said, “The next day there was a bad smell and the girl’s parents opened the storeroom of the house to find their son’s body. After that, the victim’s father filed an FIR against a neighbor who was also arrested by the police. “

Upon further investigation, it was found that the relevant neighbor was not near the scene of the crime during the time the incident occurred.

The police then questioned all members present that day, including family members.

Forensics helped crack the case

The SP said: “Family members were examined when abrasions, cuts and wounds on the boy’s body indicated that an argument had taken place between the deceased and this attacker.”

A medical and forensic team collected samples for examination from everyone present that day. Up to 25 samples were collected. Upon further examination, it was found that only the older sister had bruises on her stomach, neck, and hands.

The girl was questioned by the police in the presence of her parents and the child welfare officer. She confessed to her crime and said she did not want to kill her brother.

“She also said that she did not want to kill her brother, but he complained to her parents about her when she spoke to a male friend,” said Shlok Kumar.
