A one-year-old boy who signed Covid-19 died outside a hospital in Visakhapatnam while waiting for a bed while his mother watched helplessly.
The tragedy took place outside the King George Hospital in Visakhapatnam.
Eyewitnesses say the woman tried very hard to get a bed for her sick son, but to no avail as all the beds in the hospital were occupied.
She continued to plead with the authorities as her son gasped for breath. Eventually he died in an ambulance waiting for a hospital bed.
Eyewitnesses say the mother repeatedly asked hospital authorities to provide a bed for her son, but to no avail.
King George Hospital is the largest government hospital in Andhra Pradesh, but the situation is such that it too ran out of beds.
This is another tragedy that raises questions about how the state government is dealing with the coronavirus pandemic.
There used to be a man forced to carry his dead mother’s body on a two-wheeler as they did not have an ambulance to take them from a hospital to the crematorium.
The incident was reported on Monday in the Palasa area of Srikakulam district.
