Amid a surge in Covid-19 cases in the state The government of Rajasthan announced on Sunday a two-week strict lockdown of the state from April 19 to May 3.

During the ‘Jan Anushasan Pakhwara’ (public discipline 14 days) all commercial facilities, offices and markets will be closed.

Essential services

Only essential services such as banks, dairy shops, grocery stores and pharmacies may be operated.

Vegetables, fruit, milk and groceries are sold in the shops until 7 p.m. LPG, gas and petrol pump services as well as candy stores and takeaways are open until 8 p.m.

Exceptions

In order to prevent the migration of people, industrial plants are allowed to function even during the closure.

Employees of electronic media and print media are exempt from presenting their identity card.

Those arriving by train, bus or flight can still show their travel tickets.

Covid situation in Rajasthan

The state reported more than 10,000 new Covid-19 cases and 42 deaths on Sunday. Of the new cases, nearly 2,000 were from Jaipur. There are now 67,387 active cases in Rajasthan.
