Delhi HC asks chief secretary to hold meeting with all stakeholders on oxygen supply today

The Delhi Supreme Court has ordered the Secretary General to hold a meeting today with all stakeholders on hospital oxygenation.

The Delhi HC said it would “deal with the unavailability and black-marketing of oxygen cylinders in Delhi”.

The Delhi Supreme Court has ordered the Secretary General to hold a meeting today with all stakeholders on hospital oxygenation. It also instructed the Delhi hospitals to work out oxygen modalities during the meeting.

During a hearing on the oxygen crisis amid a spike in Covid-19 cases, the Delhi Supreme Court said it intended to “regulate the unavailability and black-marketing of oxygen cylinders in Delhi.”

Finding that Delhi’s oxygen reserves were depleted and many people were gasping for breath, the Supreme Court ordered all those offering oxygen cylinder refill services and ordered them to appear in court during Tuesday’s hearing.

The Supreme Court said, “Strict measures will be taken against the oxygen refills if all supplies are not taken into account.”
