Fliers from Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, Telangana need to show Covid negative report at Kolkata airport


Airmen from Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala and Telangana are required to provide an RT-PCR negative test report upon arrival at Kolkata Airport within 72 hours of departure.

Kolkata Airport requires passengers from four states to submit a negative Covid report upon arrival.

Kolkata Airport has mandated that all passengers arriving from Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala and Telangana must have an RT-PCR negative test report with them within 72 hours of departure.

The decision was made according to the guidelines of the state government.

West Bengal saw the highest one-day increase of 4,817 coronavirus cases on Tuesday, bringing the number to 6,24,224, the health department said in a bulletin.

The death toll also rose to 10,434 after 20 new deaths were recorded in the state.

Kolkata also saw a record one-day increase of 1,271 coronavirus cases, while North 24 Parganas district reported
1,134 cases, the bulletin added.

At least 2,278 patients have recovered from the disease in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of people cured to 5,84,740.

The state now has 29,050 active cases.

Eleven new deaths were reported from Calcutta, followed by four from North 24 Parganas, two each from Hooghly and Howrah districts and one from Paschim Bardhaman district.
