West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee will not run any further campaigns in Calcutta, said Derek O’Brien, chairman of Trinamool congresses across India, in a tweet on Sunday evening.
Amid the soaring Covid-19 cases in the state, the TMC chief will hold only one “symbolic” meeting on the last day of the city’s election campaign on April 26, O’Brien said.
In addition, all election campaigns conducted by Banerjee in all counties of the state will not last more than 30 minutes.
Mamata Banerjee will NOT fight in Calcutta anymore. Just a “symbolic” meeting on the last day of the campaign in town on April 26th.
Shortens the time for all of your election campaigns in all districts. Limited to just 30 minutes. # BengalElection2021 #Covid– Derek O’Brien | ‘(@derekobrienmp) April 18, 2021
