BJP’s Malda candidate Gopal Chandra Saha was reportedly shot at during an election campaign in the district on Sunday. He was taken to the hospital.

Gopal Chandra Saha was shot while campaigning for the West Bengal Assembly elections.

The incident happened on Sunday evening when Gopal Saha was fighting in Malda’s Shahpur area.

Saha has reportedly sustained a gunshot wound in the neck and is currently being treated in a hospital.

Video shared on social media showed Gopal Saha being taken to Malda Medical College and Hospital.

WEST BENGAL ELECTIONS

The election for the assembly in West Bengal will take place from March 27th in eight phases. The last round of voting will take place on April 29th. Five of the eight phases of the election for the assembly in Bengal have ended. The sixth phase of the vote is scheduled April 22nd. The electoral district of Malda will go to the polls on April 29th in the eighth phase.

The counting of votes in the state will take place on May 2nd.
