48% people want government to make Covid test mandatory before vaccination: Study

Around 48 percent of people surveyed by a team said the government should mandate a Covid test for vaccination. Only 27% of those questioned are against it.

Some doctors too said that there is no disorder even if an asymptomatic patient is vaccinated. However, they said that every person must adhere to the Covid safety protocol so that the asymptomatic patient does not spread the virus at the vaccination center.

The The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention suggest postponing vaccination of people with known current SARS-CoV-2 infection until the person has recovered from an acute illness (if the person has had symptoms) and they met the criteria to end the isolation.

However, their guideline is based on the fact that an asymptomatic person could spread the virus to others at the vaccination center, not because it would harm the asymptomatic patient or make the situation worse.

This week, the National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization in India (NTAGI) recommended that those recovering from Covid should wait six months before taking the first dose of the vaccine. With the issue in mind, the following question has sought the response of citizens if they believe that a rapid antigen test should be required before a vaccine dose is administered.

The survey received more than 16,000 responses from citizens in 278 districts of India.

48% OF PEOPLE SEEK COVID TEST BEFORE VACCINATION

Experts have estimated that 80 percent of cases in India are likely to be asymptomatic. What this indicates is that many people who will receive their vaccine may be asymptomatic. Some people fear that the vaccine would make their condition worse, as inconclusive discussions have been held about the possibility of overstimulating the immune response.

LocalCircles – The survey team found that 48 percent of respondents said yes before vaccination, 27 percent said no, and 25 percent couldn’t answer. This question in the survey received 8,658 responses.

54% of people know 1 or more with severe COVID after 1 or both doses of the vaccine

Some have tested positive for the virus after either the first or the second dose of the vaccine. To understand this, the survey asked people how many of these people they knew on their social network who tested positive for Covid with severe symptoms within a week of receiving the vaccine dose. It can be noted that the above is different from breakthrough infections, which are known to occur 14 days after the second dose.

In response, 20 percent of people said they knew “5 or more people” who tested positive after receiving either dose. 15 percent said “3-4 people”, 12 percent said “2 people”, and 7 percent said “1 person”.

35 percent of respondents said that “no one on my social network received Covid within a week of receiving a dose of Covid vaccine,” while 11 percent couldn’t say so. This question in the survey received 7,496 responses.

LocalCirlces founder Sachin Taparia said, “If it is not possible to test all of them, at least test those with comorbidities before vaccination.”

The The National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization (NTAGI) has stated that those who have recovered from Covid-19 should wait six months before being vaccinated. The governing body said those who have SARS-CoV-2 disease detected in laboratory tests should postpone Covid-19 vaccination for six months after recovery.
