Ahmedabad: Chef Sanjeev Kapoor provides free meals to over 500 doctors on Covid duty


Celebrity chef Sanjeev Kapoor has offered free meals to over 500 Covid-19 doctors at a civil hospital in Ahmedabad. It does so at a time when parts of the country, including Gujarat, are suffering from the second wave of infections.

Celebrity chef Sanjeev Kapoor will offer free meals to over 500 doctors treating Covid-19 patients at the Ahmedabad State Civil Hospital. Medics have been at the forefront of the fight against the pandemic since last year.

Sanjeev Kapoor has received financial support from other philanthropists to start this food service for doctors. He has hired 12 cooks to prepare three meals a day for over 500 doctors who work at the Ahmedabad Hospital.

Ahmedabad Civil Hospital is a 1,200-bed Covid facility in the Asarwa region. The hospital is considered to be the largest civil hospital in Asia.

Sanjeev Kapoor was quoted as saying that when doctors on the Covid-19 service are provided with healthy and nutritious food, that new energy will be injected into them and the doctors will then be able to better care for their patients.

According to the hospital administration, Sanjeev had sent Kapoor a proposal two days ago to offer hospital doctors free meals. The administration had accepted the suggestion and thanked for the offer.
