Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi claiming that this was caused by the delay in oxygen supplies from Tamil Nadu and Karnataka the incident at Tirupati Hospital.
At least 11 patients undergoing treatment died on Monday at Sri Venkateswara Ramnarayan Ruia Government Hospital in Andhra Pradesh’s Tirupati, allegedly due to an unstable supply of medical oxygen.

The Andhra Pradesh CM statement stated: “Unfortunately, the Ruia incident happened because the oxygen supply was interrupted for a few minutes because the tankers transporting it from neighboring Tamil Nadu were a little late. With hundreds of patients affected by oxygen as a result of the disorder, doctors tried their best to save as many lives as possible, but could not save all of them. “
RS 10 LAKH FOR DECEASED FAMILIES
Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy announced Rs 10 lakhs ex-gratia for the families of those who died in Ruia hospital in Tirupati.
The Prime Minister has ordered an investigation into the incident and has assured that strict measures will be taken to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.
In the meantime, the Andhra CM has asked the center to “give a helping hand” and has written another letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi proposing the transfer of the vaccine technology to ICMR-NIV to enable the production of the Covid-19 Boost sting Covaxin.
