The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced on May 5th a nationwide dharna against alleged post-election violence by workers of the Trinamool Congress in West Bengal.

This protest is held in compliance with all Covid-19 protocols in all organizational mandals of the party.

In the meantime, BJP’s national leader JP Nadda will visit the state on May 4th and 5th to meet the families of party workers.

That comes after The Union Ministry of Interior was looking for a report from the government of West Bengal in this regard.

Several political workers, including those of the BJP, have alleged attacks by activists of the Trinamool Congress since the election results for the 292-person assembly in West Bengal were announced on Sunday.

They claimed that TMC workers set fire to one of his party offices in the Hooghly district on counting day. In addition, BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari was attacked and his convoy was Thrown stones in Haldia after the result was announced in the Nandigram constituency.

The BJP also alleged that one of its members was badly beaten by TMC activists in the city’sbelhata area, a charge that was denied by the Mamata Banerjee camp.

However, the TMC has denied all of these allegations.

Bengali Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar on Monday called on the DGP to receive a report on the uninterrupted violence across the state since the polls were released.
