Hours after the actor Sonu Sood accused China of blocking “Many shipments” of oxygen concentrators to India that he had ordered, replied the Chinese ambassador in New Delhi, Sun Weidong, that China would do its best to help India fight Covid-19.

Earlier in the day Sonu Sood went to Twitter and said, “We are trying to get hundreds of oxygen concentrators into India. It is sad to say that China has blocked many of our shipments and we are losing lives every minute here in India.”
He urged the Chinese envoy to India and the country’s foreign minister to investigate the matter “to help us clear our shipments so we can save lives.”

This comes a day later Chinese President Xi Jinping issued a public message helping to India to fight the coronavirus pandemic.
Chinese Ambassador to India Sun Weidong said in a series of tweets that the Chinese President had delivered a “message of compassion” to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“Chinese President Xi Jinping today sends a sympathy message to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. President Xi says: ‘I am very concerned about the recent situation of the Covid-19 pandemic in India. Also on behalf of the Chinese government and the Chinese people On my own behalf, I would like to express my sincere condolences to the Indian government and people. “

The statement added: “The Chinese side stands ready to strengthen cooperation with the Indian side in the fight against the pandemic and to provide support and assistance in this regard. Meanwhile, Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar confirmed the message and said he had received a call from State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi expressing China’s sympathy for the Covid-19 challenge India is now facing.
