As the third phase of India’s Covid-19 vaccination campaign begins today and everyone over the age of 18 is eligible, some large private hospitals announced the launch of their vaccination programs for people ages 18 to 44 in limited centers in the countryside on Friday . On Thursday, two days before the vaccination campaign, the Union Ministry of Health announced that more than 1 Crore vaccine doses are still available in the states and they will receive 20 lakh more doses in the next few days. The department said the center has so far provided nearly 16.16 Crore vaccine doses to states and UTs for free.
Registration for vaccination against Covid-19 infection for everyone over the age of 18 began on April 28 at 4 p.m. in the Co-WIN portal and in the Aarogya Setu app. The government also made it compulsory for the 18-44 age group to register and get a vaccination appointment on the Co-WIN portal, the Aarogya Setu app and the UMANG app.
