Covid-19 vaccination for 18+ to begin today: Here are the details of private facilities in major cities


As the The third phase of the Indian Covid-19 vaccination campaign begins on May 1st Some large private hospitals announced on Friday that they were launching their vaccination programs for people ages 18 to 44 in limited centers around the country.

Apollo hospitals

Apollo Hospitals will only launch a limited launch of vaccines for people over the age of 18 on Saturday. The vaccine drive will ramp up in the coming weeks.

In a statement released on Friday, the Apollo Hospitals announced that vaccination for people over the age of 18 will begin on May 1 at Apollo facilities in cities such as Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai and Kolkata.

However, vaccinations for this age group will not begin May 1 at Delhi’s Apollo centers as deliveries are still expected, the hospital sources said. Vaccinations for this age group are expected to start in Delhi on May 3rd or 4th.

After negotiating with the manufacturers, the Apollo centers will administer Covatin from Bharat Biotech at a rate of Rs 1,200 per dose and Covishield from the Serum Institute of India for a price from Rs 800 per dose. Covishield’s rate is Rs 800, as is Rs 600 for the vaccine and Rs 200 is the administration fee, according to Apollo Hospitals.

Fortis Healthcare

Fortis Healthcare will start delivering Covid-19 vaccines to people over the age of 18 at its centers across northern India starting May 1. Centers in other cities will start vaccinating at this stage as soon as the authorities provide them with the necessary supplies.

A dose of Covaxin is offered in Fortis vaccination centers at a cost of Rs 1,250.

Sir Ganga Ram Hospital

The Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi will not start its vaccination campaign for people over the age of 18 on Saturday because it has not yet received the necessary supplies, authorities said.

Max Healthcare

Max Healthcare has announced that it will be ready for the Covid-19 vaccination program for citizens over the age of 18 from May 1st. The vaccines will be available at their facilities in Panchsheel Park, Patparganj, Shalimar Bagh, Rajendra Place (BLK-Max Hospital), Noida and Vaishali in the Delhi-NCR region.

As the supply of vaccines increases, all of the hospitals on their network will be used to vaccinate citizens.

The price of the Covishield vaccine at Max Healthcare centers is likely to be somewhere between 800 and 900 rupees per dose.

Citizens are obliged Register in the CoWIN app (www.cowin.gov.in) and book the appointment before you come for the vaccination. People are advised not to venture out unless they have booked an appointment on the CoWIN platform.

Although the third phase of the vaccination campaign is set to begin nationwide on Saturday, some state governments have announced that they will not be able to start the campaign still due to a lack of vaccines.
