Delhi govt extends Covid-19 curfew till June 7 with some relaxations | What’s allowed now


The lockdown in Delhi caused by Covid has been extended to June 7, the Delhi government announced on Saturday. However, some activities are permitted outside of security zones during this period.

The government of Delhi announced in a resolution passed on Saturday that the lockdown caused by Covid would be extended until June 7th. This was done despite the active Covid-19 cases and The rate of case positivity in the city is decreasingbecause “the situation is still precarious”.

Essential activities and services are of course still excluded. Individuals’ e-passports for movements associated with essential goods and services will remain valid.

In addition, some previously prohibited activities are permitted outside the security zones in the city from May 31st.

These include:

  • Operation of manufacturing / production units in closed rooms in approved industrial areas
  • Construction activities on construction sites.

To reopen production units and construction work, do the following Terms and Conditions must be fulfilled,

  • Only asymptomatic workers and employees may be admitted to the workplace.
  • Staggering working / business hours in the workplace to ensure adequate social distancing.
  • Covid-appropriate behavior that must be strictly followed by all employees in the workplace.
  • Provision of heat protection, hand washing and disinfectant, preferably with a contactless mechanism at all entry and exit points.
  • Frequent disinfection of the entire workplace and common facilities must be ensured.

A production unit or construction site that violates these rules can be closed. Legal action can also be taken.

Workers and workers are only allowed to move if they have an e-passport (soft or hard copy) that employers can obtain by submitting online applications with details of the workers on the website www.delhi.gov.in.

RANDOM CHECK, INSPECTIONS

The Delhi government has also instructed district judges to ensure regular random Covid tests in sufficient numbers in production units and on construction sites. These units must also be checked regularly to ensure that behavior that is appropriate for Covid is observed.

The police authorities have been asked to ensure that there is no unnecessary movement of people on the streets. This is done by placing an appropriate number of control points.
