Delhi, Gujarat, Maharashtra showing signs of decrease in daily new cases: Health ministry


There are signs of a decline in daily Covid-19 cases, according to the Delhi, Gujarat and Maharashtra union health ministry. Additionally, the recovery rate was 78 percent on May 2 and rose to nearly 82 percent on May 3.

According to the Department of Health, some states, including Delhi, Gujarat and Maharashtra, are showing early signs of a plateau or decrease in daily cases of Covid-19. It does so after a month of these states seeing record increases in daily Covid-19 cases. However, the Ministry of Health warned that these were very early signs for analysis.

Lav Agarwal, joint secretary of the Union’s Ministry of Health, said in a statement that a positive approach can also be seen in the restorations. He added that on May 2, the recovery rate was 78 percent, which rose to nearly 82 percent on May 3. Lav Agarwal pointed out that these are early wins that the government must work on on a regular basis.

However, the Ministry of Health also spoke about the worrying development in some states that are showing an increasing trend in Covid-19 cases and should take the necessary precautions to contain the spread of the infection. Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chandigarh, Haryana, Karnataka Kerala, Himachal Pradesh, Manipur and Meghalaya are among the states with increased cases of Covid-19.
