Delhi Police files 3,000-page chargesheet against Deep Sidhu, others in Republic Day violence case


Delhi Police have filed a 3,224-page indictment against Deep Sidhu and others in the Tis Hazari Court in relation to the violence at Red Fort on Republic Day earlier this year.

Delhi Police have filed 3,224-page indictments against actor Deep Sidhu and fifteen other people related to the violence during the Kisan tractor rally at Red Fort on Republic Day this year. The charges were brought to the Tis Hazari Court.

On January 26th, the The police clashed with protesting farmers during their tractor rally in protest against the center’s three controversial farm laws at Red Fort in Delhi. Numerous people were injured in the incident.

Of the 3,224 pages in the indictment, 250 detail how the entire “conspiracy” was hatched and carried out.

THE DEFENDANT

Sources in the Delhi Police Department said that Deep sidhu and Lakha Sidhana have been named as the main conspirators in the case. The names of many prominent farmers have also been included in the fee sheet.

According to the police, six defendants, including Lakha Sidhana, are still fleeing. Three of them – Maninder Singh, Khempreet Singh and Jabarjang Singh – are in detention.

THE FEES

The Delhi Criminal Police have charged the defendants under serious sections of India’s Criminal Code, including riot, riot, attempted murder and robbery.

Police also said they may file an additional charge sheet if they find additional evidence in the course of their investigation into the case.

Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Gajendra Singh Nagar will hear the matter on May 28th.

A total of 48 cases were recorded in connection with the incident. These cases were recorded by the Delhi Criminal Police, the special cell and the local police station. About 150 people were arrested in these cases.
