Dilip Ghosh, Mithun Chakraborty instigated violence in Bengal: TMC worker in police complaint

A Trinamool Congress employee has filed a police complaint against West Bengal’s BJP chief Dilip Ghosh and actor Mithun Chakraborty for “inciting and provoking” BJP employees. The complaint was submitted to the Manicktala Police Station in Calcutta.

In his complaint, Mrityunjoy Paul said Dilip Ghosh and Mithun Chakraborty led and provoked BJP workers to “spread violence and brutality throughout the state of West Bengal”.

Dilip Ghosh is the President of the BJP’s West Bengal Unit, while actor Mithun Chakraborty joined the party’s state assembly in the run-up to the elections earlier this year.

The complainant also cites alleged statements by Dilip Ghosh and Mithun Chakraborty that he inflicted “murder, serious injury, assault and harm” on TMC workers who were robbed of their homes.

“The BJP workers burned and destroyed the homes of the TMC workers, and the TMC workers are now roaming the streets homeless and helpless,” the complaint to the Kolkata police said.

Citing Mithun Chakraborty’s alleged statements from the election campaign – “Marbo Ekhane Laash Porbe Shoshane” and “Ek Chobole Chobi” – the complainant alleges that these statements prompted BJP workers to use immense brutality against TMC workers. Both statements are dialogues from the films of the actor who became a politician. They roughly translate: I will beat you here and your body will fall into the crematorium.

The actor turned politician made these alleged remarks during the Public meeting of the Brigade Ground in Kolkata in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modisays the complaint.

In addition, the complainant also cited Dilip Ghosh’s alleged remarks, including “Chele Bou k Dekhar Lok Thakbe Na”, “Onaath kore Debo”, “Keu Bhog Korte Parbe Na” and “Choy foot niche Pathabo Nahole Opor Theke Choy foot Namabo” below other.

Some of these supposed remarks can be roughly translated as follows: There will be no one to look after your child; will make them orphaned; Nobody will be able to enjoy your wealth.
