The leader of the opposition in the Bengali assembly, Suvendu Adhikari, pounced on Prime Minister Mamata Banerjee for “skipping” a cyclone review meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Suvendu Adhikari accused the Mamata Banerjee government of being unable to cope with post-cyclone relief efforts.

BJP boss JP Nadda also beat Mamata Banerjee for “petty politics”.

Responding to reports that Mamata Banerjee did not attend the review meeting because Adhiakri was invited, Sishir Bajoria, senior Bengali BJP leader, said Ashikari had the right to be there as an opposition leader.

Union Minister Rajnath Singh described the incident as shocking and painful.
