Dominica says Mehul Choski entered country illegally, will be repatriated to Antigua


The fugitive businessman Mehul Choksi, who is wanted in the PNB fraud case in the amount of 13,500 rupees, has entered Dominica “illegally” and has been arrested, the island state announced on Thursday.

In a statement, the Dominica Department of National Security and Internal Affairs said it was in contact with the Antigua and Barbuda authorities and possible arrangements are being made for repatriation to Antigua.

“The Ministry of National Security and Home Affairs confirms that Indian national Mehul Choksi, who is wanted by the Indian authorities, has been arrested by law enforcement for illegally entering Dominica,” the statement said, adding that another red one There is a warning issued by Interpol with Choksi’s name.

Mehul Choksi’s sudden disappearance and arrest

Why is Mehul Choksi wanted?

Mehul Choksi has been in Antigua and Barbuda since January 2018. He and his nephew Nirav Modi are wanted for allegedly withdrawing Rs 13,500 of public funds from the state-run Punjab National Bank (PNB) with letters of commitment.
