At least 11 patients undergoing treatment died Monday after the oxygen supply at Sri Venkateswara Ramnarayan Ruia Government Hospital in Andhra Pradesh’s Tirupati was blocked.

Oxygen cylinder reloading was delayed by five minutes, causing a pressure drop that resulted in death, he said.

“The oxygen supply was restored in five minutes and everything is normal now. Because of this, we could prevent further victims, ”added Hari Narayanan.

About 30 doctors were immediately taken to the intensive care unit to care for the patients.

Prime Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy inquired about the incident at Tirupati Ruia Hospital and requested a report. He also ordered the officers to take immediate action.

Jagan directed officers to ensure that such incidents did not recur.
