A fire broke out on the fourth floor of a building in Delhi’s Saket Court Residential Complex on Saturday evening. An 82-year-old person died on the spot as a result of smoke inhalation. Four other family members were rescued.
According to the fire department, a call about the fire was received at 5.23 p.m. The fire started in a 5 x 6 square meter storage room that contained a bookcase, closet, and inverter.
Five fire brigade tenders were brought to the construction site. The fire was extinguished.
An ambulance, District Disaster Management Authority staff and the Saket Police Station officer were also in attendance.
