A Lakh Coronil kit from Patanjali Ayurved will be distributed free of charge to coronavirus patients in Haryana, Health Minister Anil Vij said on Monday.
The announcement comes by in a row Yoga Guru Ramdev’s Comments Against Allopathy.
In a strongly worded letter to Ramdev, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said his remarks on allopathic medicine were “extremely unfortunate,” whereupon the yoga guru withdrew his testimony.
Vij said half of the cost of these kits was borne by Patanjali and the other half by the Haryana government’s Covid Relief Fund.
The kit contains three items: Coronil tablets, Swazari Vati and Anu Taila.
Ramdev had introduced Coronil from Ayurveda on June 23 last year when the pandemic was peaking.
“A Lakh Patanjali Coronil kit is being distributed free of charge to Covid patients in Haryana. Half of the coronil cost was borne by Patanjali and half by the Haryana government’s Covid Relief Fund,” Vij said in a tweet in Hindi.
In the meantime, oxygen systems with pressure swing adsorption (PSA) are being built in eight districts of the state in cooperation with the central government.
This work, which is being carried out by the DRDO, will be completed by June 30, he said.
The state health minister said setting up these facilities will help supply 6,210 beds with oxygen, including 550 beds at the state-sponsored medical college at Maharaja Agrasen Medical College in Agroha, Hisar, 550 beds at the Military Hospital (MH) in Ambala, and 750 beds in AIIMS Jhajjar, 550 beds in Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College Karnal, 652 beds in SHKM Government Medical College Nalhar, 658 beds in Western Command Chandimandir, Panchkula and 2,000 beds in PGIMS Rohtak.
PSA systems with a capacity of 1,000 liters per minute (LMP) of oxygen will be installed at all of these locations.
According to Vij, the DRDO has set up Covid care centers in two districts.
