The body of a coronavirus patient who died a month ago at Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP) Hospital in New Delhi was missing in the hospital, according to the patient’s family. The family also filed a lawsuit against the hospital after the hospital failed to find a Deepika body a month after her death.
While the woman died in April, the incident didn’t come to light until after May 7th, when Deepika’s brother Siddhartha went to the hospital to collect her body. He filed a case with the police after the hospital failed to hand Deepika’s body over to her family. Now, 10 days after filing a complaint, even the police were unable to resolve the case.
In his complaint to the police in Delhi, Siddhartha said that his sister Deepika, who had been ill for some time, was admitted to the Sri Ram Singh Hospital in Noida after her condition worsened. Deepika tested positive for Covid-19 on April 15. The hospital then asked Siddhartha to have her admitted to a hospital dedicated by Covid.

After trying for hours, Siddhartha managed to take Deepika to the LNJP hospital, where the doctors pronounced her dead. The hospital authorities also asked Siddhartha to come back after two to three days to pick up her body. However, Siddhartha’s parents tested positive for Covid-19 and he too had to be isolated.
When Siddhartha reached the LNJP hospital to pick up his sister’s body, the authorities could not find her in the morgue. Despite hours of searching, the hospital could not find Deepika’s body. He was sent home and said he would be informed as soon as Deepika’s body is found.
Siddhartha finally filed a complaint with the police. It’s been about a month since Deepika died, but her body has not yet been found.
