A gunman opened fire at a birthday party in Colorado, killing six adults before committing suicide on Sunday, police said.
The shooting took place shortly after midnight at a RV park on the east side of Colorado Springs, police said.
Officers arrived at a trailer to find six dead adults and a man with serious injuries who later died in a hospital, the Colorado Springs Gazette reported.

The alleged shooter was the friend of a female victim at the party attended by friends, family and children. He went in and opened fire before shooting himself, police said.
The birthday party was for one of those killed, police said.
Neighbor Yenifer Reyes told the Denver Post that she woke up to the sound of many gunshots.
“I thought it was a thunderstorm,” Reyes said. “Then I heard sirens.” Police took children out of the trailer and put them in at least one patrol car, she said, adding that the children were “crying hysterically”. Authorities say the children who were not injured in the attack were placed with relatives.
The police did not reveal the identity of the shooter or the victims on Sunday. The authorities say a motive is not immediately known.

“My heart breaks for the families who have lost someone they love and for the children who have lost their parents,” Colorado Springs police chief Vince Niski said in a statement.
It was Colorado’s worst mass shooting since a gunman killed 10 people in a Boulder supermarket on March 22nd.
“The tragic gunfire in Colorado Springs is devastating,” said Governor Jared Polis on Sunday, “especially as many of us spend the day celebrating the women in our lives who made us who we are today.”
With a population of 465,000, Colorado Springs is the second largest city in Colorado after Denver.
In 2015, a man randomly shot three people before dying in a shootout with police in Colorado Springs on Halloween. Less than a month later, a man killed three people, including a police officer, and injured eight others in a shootout at a planned parenting clinic in the city.
