The daughter of Padma Vibhushan Pandit Chhannulal Mishra, who was proposed for PM Narendra Modi in the 2014 Lok Sabha election, died of Covid-19. His younger daughter has now accused the hospital of negligence and filed a complaint against the facility.
The wife of the famous Hindustani classic Pandit Channulal Mishra had recently passed away due to Covid-19. And now his daughter Sangeeta also died of Covid.
After her sister’s death, Pandit Mishra’s younger daughter Namrata showed up at the private hospital and accused the management of negligence and extortion. She caused an uproar on the hospital grounds over her sister’s death.
On April 26, 76-year-old Manorama Mishra, the wife of Pandit Chhannulal Mishra, died of Covid in a private hospital in Gurdham, Varanasi. On May 1, Pandit Chhannulal’s older daughter Sangeeta also died in a Covid hospital in the Maidagin area.
Two days after Sangeeta’s death, the hospital reportedly provided no information on death, patient records or CCTV footage. This caused the younger daughter to reach the hospital grounds and demand answers.

Namrata has accused the hospital of negligence and extortion. She was yelled at and accused the hospital authorities of negligence. The heated arguments lasted about an hour in the hospital.
Police soon reached the private hospital in Varanasi and persuaded Namrata and the family to file a police complaint instead. She then filed a complaint against Medwin Hospital.
Namrata has said that her sister Sangeeta was admitted to Medwin Hospital after paying Rs 1.5 lakh. She vomited and also had a fever. Her reports later showed she was Covid positive.
The hospital reportedly promised to show CCTV footage of Sangeeta while she was at the facility. The hospital also said that her condition was improving and that she was given regular meals.
Later on April 29, the family was informed that Sangeeta’s condition was critical. When the family got to the hospital, they were informed of her death.
After several appeals, the family saw her body and said that they were also not informed of her condition or the reasons for its deterioration.
The family has now sought an investigation into the death and requested video footage of the hospital, while the sister has alleged that Sangeeta was murdered.
