Rajasthan: Congress, BJP manage to retain assembly constituencies in bypolls to three seats


Congress and the BJP managed to keep the assembly’s constituencies in the Bypolls on three seats, the results of which were announced on Sunday.

The Rajasthan Congress managed to keep the Sahara and Sujangarh seats in the Congregation Bypoll, the outcome of which was announced on Sunday. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) managed to keep the Rajsamand seat.

In October last year, the Congress MLA Kailash Chandra Trivedi from the Sahara in the Rajasthan district of Bhilwara died of Covid-19. Congress gave the ticket to his wife, Gayatri Devi, who managed to win in the constituency of the Sahara Assembly with more than 30,000 votes.

Bhanwarlal Meghwal, who was the seated member of the Sujangarh Legislative Assembly, died last year while undergoing treatment for a paralytic stroke. His son Manoj Meghwal was used by the congresses for by-poll.

BJP MLA Kiran Maheshwari from Rajsamand also died due to Covid-19. The party gave the ticket to their daughter Deepti Kiran Maheshwari, who managed to defeat the congressional candidate with more than 5,000 votes.

Each relative of the sitting candidates could win by receiving votes of sympathy.
