Should we hang ourselves for failure to produce vaccines, asks Union Minister Gowda


The Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers, DV Sadananda Gowda, wanted to know on Thursday whether government officials should hang themselves for failing to make vaccines as ordered by the government.

“The court said with good intent that everyone in the country should be vaccinated. I want to ask you if the court says tomorrow that you have to give this much (vaccine), if it has not yet been made, should we hang ourselves? “Gowda told reporters here.

Answering questions about the lack of vaccines, The Union minister stressed the government’s plan of action, saying his decisions were not guided by any political gain or any other reason.

Gowda said the government did its job sincerely and honestly. During this time, some shortcomings have appeared.

“In practice, certain things are beyond our control. Can we manage them?”

However, he made it clear that the government has done its best to make sure things get better and people get vaccinated in a day or two.

“Could have been worse”

The BJP’s national secretary general, CT Ravi, who was present at Gowda, claimed that it would have been worse if the arrangements had not been made in time.

“If the right precautions had not been taken in time, there would have been ten or a hundred times more deaths,” Ravi said.

He said The oxygen supply was increased by 300 tons to 1,500 tons due to systematic preparation.

“But our preparations failed because of the unimaginable spread of the corona virus,” Ravi told reporters.

“Judges are not omniscient”

Regarding Courts are pulling up the government On the subject of coronavirus, Ravi said: “The judges are not omniscient (Sarvajna). Whatever is available from us, on this basis the technical advisory board will recommend how much (vaccine) needs to be distributed. We will make a decision.”

Situation in Karnataka
