Days after arriving in Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow, a 41-year-old woman from Thailand succumbed to Covid-19. The Lucknow woman on a tourist visa was admitted to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital after developing symptoms of the disease.
She was treated in the hospital’s Covid department, where she died on May 3rd.
The reason for the woman’s visit to Lucknow is still unclear. Some reports suggest that she arrived in the capital UP on April 28th.
Lucknow Police interviewed their local friend, a tour guide named Salman Khan, to determine the reason for their visit to the city.

SP leader claims BJP MP’s son brought the woman to India
Some opposition leaders in the state, including Samajwadi party Leader IP Singh claimed that the Thai national was escorted to India by the son of BJP MP Sanjay Seth.

The letter also states that the woman’s family has been informed of her death and that Lucknow County Council should also send the death certificate back to Thailand. The cause of death prescribed by doctors at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital should be listed on the death certificate, embassy officials wrote.
Lucknow Police cremated the body of the Thai national in the presence of the local guide Salman Khan, whom they knew. The last rites were broadcast live to her family in Thailand, said Vibhuti Khand Police Station SHO Chandra Shekhar Singh.
