A 4.3 magnitude earthquake struck parts of Uttarakhand shortly after midnight on Monday. The National Center for Seismology has traced the epicenter back to the Chamoli district.

An earthquake measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale occurred on Monday at 12:31 p.m. 44 km north-northwest of Joshimath in the Chamoli district in Uttarkhand. Tremors were felt in parts of the state, including Dehradun, Pauri, and Garhwal districts.

The National Center for Seismology has reviewed and confirmed reports of the earthquake. According to the NCS, the epicenter was 22 km deep at 30.94 (width) – 79.44 (length).
