UP government extends partial Covid curfew till Monday morning


The UP government has extended the coronavirus lockdown until Monday morning amid the growing cases of Covid.

As the state has more and more cases of Covid, the government of Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday extended the curfew, which was partially imposed in the state, until Monday morning (7 a.m.). The restrictions should be lifted tomorrow morning.

The decision was made during a high-level meeting chaired by Uttar Pradesh Prime Minister Yogi Adityanath. The meeting was attended by Health Minister Jai Pratap Singh and senior government officials including ACS Information Navneet Sehgal. This is the third extension of the lockdown in the state.

According to the top officials, the disinfection measure will be intensified during this period.

However, according to the state government, the daily Covid cases continued to decline for the sixth day in a row, with 25,858 new cases reported in the last 24 hours. However, the Covid-19 toll hit an all-time high with 3.52 deaths in the past 24 hours.
