Two police officers and a civilian were killed in the shooting in the city of Sopore in the Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday.
Two police officers and a civilian were injured in the attack on the security forces, allegedly carried out by suspected terrorists.
Sources said suspected terrorists fired on the joint police and CRPF team in the Arampora area of northern Kashmiri Sopore on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the area has been cordoned off to capture the militants, sources said.
Omar Abdullah, former prime minister of Jammu and Kashmir and vice president of the National Conference, went on Twitter to condemn the attack.
“Terrible news comes from Sopore. Such attacks must be condemned without reservation. Prayers for the injured and condolences to the families of the deceased, ”Omar Abdullah tweeted.
