Twitter has now removed the verified blue tick or badge from the handle of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) boss Mohan Bhagwat. Mohan Bhagwat has 20.76 lakh followers on Twitter.
Earlier in the day, Vice President Venkaiah Naidu’s Twitter handle also dropped the blue tick due to inactivity. Twitter removed the verified blue check mark and later restored it on Venkaiah Naidu’s personal account.
Vice-Presidential Secretariat officials said Naidu @MVenkaiahNaidu’s personal Twitter handle had been inactive for a long time and the Twitter algorithm removed the blue badge.
The last tweet posted from the personal handle was on July 23rd last year.
Officials said Twitter was contacted after noticing that the blue tick had been removed this morning. Before 10.30 a.m., the blue tick was restored, it said.
Twitter said the account has been inactive since July 2020. The verified badge has now been restored. The Vice President uses the official Twitter handle @VPSecretariat to send tweets.
