RAMDEV CREATES STIRRING WITH COMMENT

Baba Ramdev was recently forced to withdraw a testimony made in a viral video clip in which he questioned some of the drugs used to treat the coronavirus infection and said that “Lakhs died from taking allopathic drugs for Covid-19”.

While Baba Ramdev withdrew his remarks and apologized a day later, the The yoga guru asked the Indian Medical Association 25 questions (IMA) in an “open letter” on his Twitter handle asking if allopathy provides lasting relief from disease.

His remarks had angered the Medical Brotherhood and angered the IMA. The IMA urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi go after Baba Ramdev amid riots and other charges for allegedly “leading a misinformation campaign about Covid vaccination”.

The IMA also forwarded a six-page defamation note to Baba Ramdev for his allegedly derogatory remarks against allopathy and allopathic doctors, who demanded an apology from him within 15 days, otherwise the association demanded compensation of 1,000 rupees from the yoga guru.

Patanjali Yogpeeth confirmed that he had received a statement of defamation served by the Indian Medical Association and said he would provide an “appropriate response” legally.
