BJP leader shot in Tral belt of South Kashmir’s Pulwama


A BJP was killed by unknown perpetrators in the southern Kashmiri district of Pulwama. Despite being admitted to the hospital, he could not be saved.

A councilor of the Bhartiya Janta Party, Rakesh Pandita, was shot dead by three unidentified persons in the Tral belt of the Pulwama district of southern Kashmiri on Wednesday evening. Pandit died from his injuries in the hospital.

Another woman, the daughter of his friend with whom he went to the town of Tral, also suffered gunshot wounds to the leg. However, the woman was taken to Pulwama Hospital for treatment. For now, the area is cordoned off to catch the attackers.

The leader was not accompanied by his personal security guards when he visited the area. Police and security forces have launched a massive search operation to arrest the attackers.
