Maharashtra political circles are feeling the heat over the OBC reservation issue. Serious differences over OBC reservations have arisen not only between the ruling Maha Vikas Aghadi and the BJP, but also within Congress.

A senior Maharasthra minister, who is also a congressional leader, has now claimed that he was denied an important position in the state cabinet because of his caste.

Minister Vijay Wadettiwar claimed on Sunday that he had been denied the Treasury Department because he was from the OBC community. Wadettiwar made the shocking remarks during a bipartisan OBC conference organized by his department.

NCP leaders Chhagan Bhujbal and BJP boss Pankaja Munde attended along with other prominent OBC leaders from across the state.

“I was an opposition leader under the previous administration. After we came to power, I expected to get the tax office. But it didn’t happen because I belong to the OBC caste,” said Wadettiwar.

In the same speech, the Minister for OBC Affairs, Vijay Wadettiwar, went to the Shiv Sena. “Tiger is going on instructions from Congress,” Wadettiwar was quoted as saying.

When asked about the congressional leader’s remarks to the ally, Balasaheb Thorat said, “Wadettiwar and Tiger have an ancient connection. Tadoba is near his constituency. Shiv Sena shouldn’t feel bad. Our alliance is strong and the government is about to end its term. “
