After Italy and Belgium, the Netherlands made it through to the round of 16 as the third team on Friday with their 2-0 victory over Austria in their Group C at the Euro 2020 in Amsterdam.
Memphis Depay and Denzel Dumfries each scored one goal and helped the Dutch make it into the European Championship for the first time since 2008
The Netherlands failed to qualify in the last two major international football tournaments, but won both games of the Euro 2020 in Group C.
Depay scored a penalty in the 11th minute to score his 27th goal in 66 international matches.

Dumfries then scored his second goal of the tournament in the 67th round after a selfless pass from PSV Eindhoven’s team-mate Donyell Malen. The Netherlands have now won their last 22 games by scoring their first goal. They scored 68 goals and conceded only seven in those games.

With the Netherlands victory, North Macedonia is also the first team to be eliminated from the European Championship. The North Macedonians have lost two games in Group C and will finish fourth in the group regardless of the result of their last game against the Netherlands.
Austria must now beat Ukraine to finish second in Group C. A draw would probably be enough to get into the knockout round as third.
