Gasoline and diesel prices have risen rapidly in the country due to rising international crude oil prices. Experts are concerned about the ongoing round of fuel price increases as it sparked a sharp surge in inflation.

One of the main reasons for the high fuel prices is taxes on gasoline and diesel. The center and state governments have the highest taxes on fuel in the world. Although many appeals have been made to reduce fuel taxes, no action has been taken despite the increasing economic burden on citizens.
