The GST Council on Saturday released the recommendation on tax certification for vaccines and other Covid-related material. Now vaccines continue to have a GST of 5 percent, while oximeters have a GST of 12 to 5 percent. In addition, the GST rates for ambulances have been reduced from 28 to 12 percent.

“GST rates have been set for four product categories – drugs, oxygen, oxygen generation equipment, test kits and other machines, and other supplies related to Covid-19,” said Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

“Five percent GST is still paid for vaccines. As previously announced, the center will buy 75 percent of the vaccines and also pay for its GST. However, 70 percent of the GST revenue is shared with the states, ”said Nirmala Sitharaman.

Nirmala Sitharaman said: “The GST for electric ovens and temperature testers has been reduced to 5 percent and for ambulances to 12 percent. These rates are in effect until September, compared to the end of August, which are recommended by the government.”

In addition, the tax on drugs against the black fungus has been reduced to zero.

Discharge will be granted until September this year and the decision to extend discharge will be made during this month’s GST meeting. The notification of reduced tariffs is issued either today (Saturday) or on Sunday.
