To promote Covid vaccination, the Uttar Pradesh district administration’s Firozabad has ordered that government employees only receive their salaries if they are vaccinated, an official said on Wednesday.

Chief Development Officer Charchit Gaur said District Judge Chandra Vijay Singh had issued an oral “no vaccination, no salary” order.

If an employee is not taking Covid vaccine, the department will take action as directed and stop their salary for the month of May, Mr Gaur said.

The county tax officer and other department heads were given instructions on how to implement the order and asked to make a list and arrange for vaccinations, he said.

The CDO said employees are trying to get vaccinated for fear that their salary may be cut.
