Twitter shows Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh outside India on its site

The map in the Tweep Life section of Twitter shows Jammu and Kashmir, as well as Ladakh outside India. This is the second time Twitter has misrepresented India’s map. Previously, Leh had shown it to be part of China.

The Indian map distortion appears in the Careers section of the Twitter website under the heading “Tweep Life”.

Twitter has once again sparked controversy with the microblogging platform displaying a skewed map of India showing Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh as a separate country.

The map, which appears in the career section of the microblogging platform, shows Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh detached from the country.

This isn’t the first time Twitter has shown a skewed map of India.

The center wrote to Twitter’s CEO last year expressing strong disapproval of the misrepresentation of the map of India after Twitter revealed the geographic location of Leh in Jammu and Kashmir, People’s Republic of China.

In a warning, the government said any attempt by Twitter to disregard India’s sovereignty and integrity is completely unacceptable.

The US digital giant has argued with the Indian government over the new social media rules.

The government has criticized Twitter for deliberate defiance and non-compliance with the country’s new IT rules, which has resulted in the microblogging platform losing its legal protection as an intermediary in India and being held liable for users who post illegal content
