In the run-up to the expansion and reshuffle, several ministers submitted their resignation from the cabinet and released several important ministerial departments.
Up to 12 ministers, including Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, submitted their resignation when the Union’s Council of Ministers was seeking a major upheaval.
Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank also said he was unwilling to continue in office and no longer belong to the cabinet for health reasons. The Union’s Minister of Health, Harsh Vardhan, also left the Union’s cabinet on Wednesday.
