Former UP CM Kalyan Singh admitted to ICU in Lucknow


The former Prime Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Kalyan Singh, was admitted to the intensive care unit of the SGPGI in Lucknow. A committee of experts was commissioned to look after the veteran politician.

The former Prime Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Kalyan Singh, was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI) in Lucknow on Sunday evening, the institute announced.

The statement said that a panel of experts from the nephrology, cardiology, neurology, endocrinology and neurootology departments was formed to oversee veteran BJP leader Kalyan Singh.

Kalyan Singh was admitted to the Ram Manohar Lohia Institute in Lucknow on Saturday after his health deteriorated. He has not been well for the past two weeks.

Kalyan Singh reportedly complained of body swelling. His urea and creatinine levels were also increased, according to blood tests.

Singh, who is also the former governor of Rajasthan, was admitted to the SGPI’s intensive care unit at around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday.

The institute’s most recent statement read: “When he arrived here, his blood pressure and heartbeat were found to be normal, but consciousness was somewhat low. Given his previous complaints, he was admitted to the CCM’s intensive care unit.
