The Delhi Supreme Court on Thursday called the drug inspector about the drug hoarding case against BJP MP Gautam Gambhir and asked if all Gurdwaras and Good Samaritans were being prosecuted for helping those in need of medical care.

During the hearing, DCGI told the High Court, “The July 15 report is a compliance report on Gautam Gambhir and Praveen Kumar (AAP MLA). Since yesterday it was noted and a summons was issued against Gautam Gambhir. “

The Delhi HC pulled the DCGI for “targeting” political leaders providing oxygen and asked if the Gautam Gambhir case had been raised for being given 10,000 pills.

“There were some Samaritans who provided oxygen. You cannot prosecute them. Will you first take action against all gurudwara, mandirs, etc. ”asked the Delhi Supreme Court.

“They deliberately target political parties. It is a pity. We won’t let that happen. It is unfortunate that this human tragedy has been misused for political capital, ”the court said.

The court further stated: “It is not about taking action against a specific person. The reason we took up the case of Mr Gautam Gambhir is because he irresponsibly picked up 10,000 tablets and only distributed them to his constituency. He may have had the best of intentions, he was spending money out of pocket. “

Gautam Gambhir’s lawyer said his foundation has been selling medicines since 2012. “The condemnation that has taken place through advertising is serious damage to my reputation,” said his lawyer in court.

The hearing was postponed to August 5th.
