A 27-year-old heartbroken man was arrested for vandalism in Karnataka’s capital, Bangaluru. He said he was frustrated with breaking up with his girlfriend which caused him to go nuts and wreck cars in the DCP West Zone in Bengaluru late Thursday.

The police seized CCTV recordings from the area, identified the accused on the basis of this information and arrested him on Friday morning.

During interrogation, the defendant admitted damaging cars because he was heartbroken and depressed after breaking up with his girlfriend the day before.

In a similar incident in March of this year, two drunk youths reportedly beat up a 20-year-old student in southern Bengaluru and vandalized around 15 vehicles, including cars and motorcycles.

A day later, the police identified the defendants and arrested them. The 20-year-old was sent for advice.
