The India Meteorological Department has issued a red alert to several districts across Telangana. It also predicted heavy to extremely heavy rains in isolated locations for three days, beginning July 21 through July 23.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a red alert for three days from July 21-23 for several districts across Telangana.
The bulletin predicted heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in isolated locations over the districts of Kumurambheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Jagtial, Peddapally, Jayashankar Bhupalally, Mulugu and Bhadradri Kothagudem. Red alert was issued for these districts as well.
The IMD issued an orange warning for the districts of Adilabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Khammam, Mahbubabad, Siddipet, Kamareddy, Warangal and Hanamkonda.
The IMD predicted thunderstorms, accompanied by lightning and gusty winds (speeds up to 30-40 km / h) that would very likely occur in isolated locations across Telangana.
However, it added that Hyderabad would get moderate to heavy rain or thunderstorms and the skies would remain cloudy.
The cyclone warning center in Visakhapatnam warns fishermen not to venture into the sea for the next five days.
