The convoy from West Bengal, CM Mamata Banerjee, was seen shortly after 4 p.m. on Tuesday arriving at Lok Kalyan Marg 7 in New Delhi. The Prime Minister had sought to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his official residence earlier this month.

This will be the first official meeting between CM Mamata Banerjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi since the two led their respective parties to battle in the recent West Bengal Assembly elections. The two met briefly in the last week of May at Kalaikunda Air Base in Bengal’s West Midnapore for a review meeting on Cyclone Yaas.

The agenda for Prime Minister Banerjee’s meeting with the Prime Minister on Tuesday is still unclear. A number of issues, including the release of central funding to the state and the availability of vaccines, could play a role in the discussion.

Mamata Banerjee could also hold a press conference after meeting PM Modi at Lok Kalyan Marg 7 in New Delhi.

Before her meeting with Prime Minister Modi, Mamata Banerjee met with former Prime Minister of Madhya Pradesh Kamal Nath and Congressman Anand Sharma in the state capital. She is said to still meet with Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi today.

CM Mamata Banerjee is scheduled to meet with Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday. There is also speculation that she might visit NCP chief Sharad Pawar and other high-ranking opposition leaders during her five-day visit to Delhi.
