Delhi police arrested a man who allegedly killed his wife, who had previously accused him of rape. The man was previously accused of rape by the deceased woman and was sent to prison.

The man was identified as Rajesh from Delhi. He married the woman in December last year after he was released from prison, the Hindustan Times reported.

In June last year, the woman complained that Rajesh raped her after he had promised to marry her. One case was recorded based on her complaint and he was arrested in August. However, he was released from Tihar Prison in October after the woman withdrew her complaint that she would marry him. After his release, the two married in December, the NDTV reported.

The woman’s family claim that Rajesh tortured her and had frequent arguments with her. The woman had returned to her family, but Rajesh convinced her to return. He took her to his village in the Udham Singh Nagar district of Uttarakhand on June 11th under the pretext of checking on his mother. The woman’s family said her phone has been off since then.

Her family then turned to the police and filed on Jan.

The police used their phone records to determine their location. The last location was found on June 12 near the Hanumangarh Temple in Nainital. Her husband’s place was also the same.

Police said Rajesh initially denied any involvement in the crime, but later admitted it. The police cited “harassment” by the victim and her mother as the reason for the crime.

“About 13 km from Nainital, he expressed his wish to have a physical relationship with his wife in a remote location. He took her to a cave. After he had sex, he strangled his wife, “the police said, as quoted by the Hindustan Times.

“A case against him has been recorded under IPC paragraphs 302 (murder) and 201 (disappearance of evidence),” police said.
