In the 79th edition of his monthly Mann-ki-Baat address on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged the population to exercise caution when celebrating festivals in the coming months.
Prime Minister Modi also urged people to cheer on the athletes representing India at the Tokyo Olympics through the government’s “Victory Punch Campaign” on social media.
PM Modi also praised agricultural innovations in the northeast states and discussed the cultivation of apples in Manipur and Ber in Tripura by local farmers.
Further on the show, PM Modi called for people to work together on water conservation, emphasizing that rainwater should be preserved for future generations.
HERE ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT FROM PM MODI’S ADDRESS TO MANN KI BAAT:
- Let us together extend our best wishes to all of our athletes taking part in the Tokyo Olympics. Our Victory Punch campaign to support Olympic athletes has started on social media. Share your victory punch with your team. Cheers for India.
- Tomorrow, July 26th, is Kargil Vijay Diwas. The Kargil War is a symbol of the bravery and patience of part of the Indian armed forces that the whole world has watched. This time, this proud day is celebrated in the midst of Amrit Mahotsav. I wish you that you read the exciting saga of Kargil.
- The Ministry of Culture is working to ensure that as many Indians as possible sing the national anthem together on Independence Day. A website Rashtragan.in was also created for this purpose. With the help of this website you can render and record the national anthem and thus connect with the campaign.
- We can contribute to nation building, even if we carry out our routine work such as “Vocal for Local”. The support of local entrepreneurs, artists, craftsmen and weavers should be a matter of course for us. National Handloom Day on August 7th is an opportunity to try this.
- Whenever you buy a khadi product, it benefits our poor weaver brothers and sisters. So, in a sense, buying khadi is a service to the people, a service to the land. I urge all of you to make it your business to buy Handloom products made in rural areas and share them on #MyHandloomMyPride.
- Let us make a sacred Amrit resolution on Amrit Mahotsav that the land remains our highest belief; our top priority. We need to move forward with the mantra “Nation First, Always First”.
- A recent study by mygov.in found that around 75 percent of those who send their messages and suggestions to Mann Ki Baat are under 35 years of age. It means that Man Ki Baat is guided by the views of the youth of India. Mann Ki Baat is a medium with positivity and sensitivity.
- India recently presented the Holy Relic or Icon of Holy Queen Ketevan to the Georgian government and the people there. The ceremony, which took place in a very emotional atmosphere, was attended by the President of Georgia, the Prime Minister, many religious leaders and a large number of Georgians. The words spoken in praise of India in this ceremony are very memorable indeed.
- There was always a lack of water in the place where I spent my childhood. We used to long for rain and so it is part of our traditions, our Sanskar, to save every drop of water. Now this mantra “water protection through citizen participation” has changed the picture there.
- The monsoons and rainy seasons are not only beautiful and pleasant, but also nourishing and life-giving. The rainwater we get is for our future generations, we should never forget that.
- I wish you all the best of wishes for the upcoming festivals. At parties and celebrations, you must not forget that Corona has not passed away yet. You must not forget the protocols related to Corona.
