Minor arrested in Madhya Pradesh for hacking phones, gathering blackmail-worthy data and extorting money

A 16-year-old boy was arrested by police in the Singrauli district of Madhya Pradesh for using his cell phone hacking knowledge to extort and extort money from several people. The boy was arrested on Monday at his home in Morwa city.

According to police sources, the defendant has targeted more than two dozen people in the past few months. However, no one came forward to file a complaint.

OPERAND MODE

The teen allegedly created a WhatsApp account with a Canadian phone number that he somehow had access to. With this account, he would impersonate a non-resident Indian girl and chat with people. He then recorded obscene videos and photos of his victims and later extorted money from them.

While chatting with his targets on WhatsApp, the boy also hacked into their cell phones and stole data such as phone numbers, social media accounts, photos and videos. He later sent the obscene pictures and videos to the victim’s friends and family members.

Sometimes he also sent the pictures to himself. He would then move closer to the targets to show that such news had reached him about a mysterious girl. In these cases he would help the goal and ask for money for it.

NEIGHBOR ACCOUNT

According to the police, the boy’s neighbors reported that they had been harassed by an online hacker for a long time.

“You were full. In fact, many members of this family have stopped using smartphones because their phones kept ringing without any calls, ”said Manish Tripathi, in charge of Morwa Police Station. was quoted in The Free Press Journal.

The family members informed the police that a teenager in their neighborhood sometimes asked for money to solve their problems. Based on this portrayal, the police suspected that the teenager might have had something to do with the crime. Then they gathered him up and interrogated him. He confessed to the crime.

Defendant spilled the beans

After his arrest, the defendant disclosed details of his crime during police investigations and interrogations. He said the first thing he learned was how to change the GPS location of his device. He could then access hacking applications that are banned in India.

“Through these applications, he bought study materials on hacking. He started extorting money from people so that he could continue to buy hacking material from the dark web and upgrade his skills, “a police officer is quoted in the Free Press Journal report.

According to police, the boy did not attend a class to learn how to hack. He used YouTube videos and taught himself.

“His parents gave him a laptop on his birthday two years ago. Since then, he has been using his laptop for more than 15 hours a day. He failed twice in grade 10, ”said Policeman Tripathi.
